Former test cricketer Younis Khan was reportedly being appointed as the coach for Pakistan U-19 team. The expected move had come on the back of Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani’s directives as he seeked continuity in the performance and practice of U-19 team.
However, the report has come now that the talk between MD PCB Wasim Khan and Younis had a fruitless conclusion. Apparently, the deadlock came when Younis demanded a mandate in the selection of the team, which the Board was not willing to grant, and to top it off the compensation package was also not agreed upon.
Younis has had a history of clash with the Pakistan Cricket Board on matters of various intensities, for this reason many senior officials were reluctant to see this agreement coming into play. Regardless, the chapter has closed on its own and it is now to be seen who PCB deems fit for the job now.
