After a nail biting match against Afghanistan, that saw all sorts of highs and lows on and off the field, Pakistan finished off its chase of 228 with two balls remaining.
Man of the Match Imad Wasim helped the green side sail through victory as the predictor showed 79% chance of Afghan victory after the fall of most important wickets. Finishing off at 49 for 54 balls, Imad hit the winning boundary as Pakistan surpassed England on the points table.
The humongous task is at Eoin Morgan’s side now to defeat both India and New Zealand in the upcoming matches to secure a spot in semi finals. For now the bottom ranked Pakistan has climbed its way up to fourth spot with only Bangladesh to face now.
It is however eminent that Pakistan does not become complacent nor considers the Bengal tigers an easy opponent; the lowest ranked Afghanistan did show its flair today as the match came down to the very last ball.
With four wickets off 47 balls, Shaheen Shah Afridi and for his splendid batting and two wickets Imad Wasim brought home the victory today. The next games requires more of each player, as a team.
