Pakistan star cricketer Shahid Afridi is all set to embark on a new journey. The 37-year old cricketer will now be seen in action in the 2019 Euro T20 Slam as an icon player, reported an Indian publication.
The 2019 Euro T20 Slam will be played in between August 30 to September 22 in Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. The six franchises (two from each country) will be Belfast Titans, Dublin Chiefs; Glasgow Giants, Edinburgh Rocks; and Amsterdam Kings, Rotterdam Rhinos, respectively.
“I have enjoyed my early days in cricket playing in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, and Kent. I am expecting similar kind of surfaces and weather in Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands,” Lala said while talking to the Indian publication.
Alongside Afridi, Shane Watson (Australia), Brendon McCullum (New Zealand) and Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) will also be among the six icon players featured in the tournament. The remaining two players’ names will be announced soon.
Additionally, Pakistani batsman Babar Azam will also participate in the tournament as marquee player. JP Duminy and Imran Tahir (South Africa), Chris Lynn (Australia) and Luke Ronchi (New Zealand) will also play as marquee players.
