PSL (PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE) 2019
INTRODUCTION:
Pakistan Super League is a Twenty20 cricket league, founded in Lahore on 9
September 2015 with five teams and now comprises six teams. Instead of operating
as an association of independently owned teams, the league is a single entity in
which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors.

The PSL season runs between the months of February and March, with each team
playing matches in “Double Round Robin Format”; the top four teams with the
best record qualify for the play offs and culminates in the championship game, the
PSL Cup Final.

The league is directed out of the Pakistan Cricket Board head office in Lahore, to
the first season was played entirely in the United Arab Emirates. The inaugural
champions were Islamabad United. Peshawar Zalmi  was the 2017 PSL
Champions, having defeated Quetta Gladiators in Lahore on 5 March 2017. The
current champions are Islamabad United, who won the title on 25 March 2018
in Karachi.

BASH IN A GROUND BY KARACHI KINGS:
Karachi Kings thrashed Quetta Gladiators by six wickets in the 15 th match of PSL’s
fourth edition on Sunday in the heart of UAE (Sharjah).
Colin Ingram broil the bowlers of Quetta Gladiators and become the highest scorer
in PSL history having out up 127 runs off just 59 balls and also the only one to
score a century this season so far. He powered Karachi Kings to brutally defeat
Quetta Gladiators.

Ingram’s magnificent performance completely overshadowed the rest of the
batsmen.

WHAT A MATCH:
Quetta Gladiators posted a 187-runs challenge for Karachi Kings with the help of
Umar Akmal’s brilliant knock. Akmal transpire as the side’s top scorer with 55
runs off 37 deliveries.

Shane Watson scored 25 off 24 balls with two 4s and two 6s in the mix before
getting out in the 7 th over courtesy. Umar Khan and his partner, Rilee Rossouw
posted 44 off 32 deliveries with four 4s and a single 6. He was bowled out in the
14 th 0ver by Aamir Yamin.

Karachi Kings won the toss and opted to bowl. Batting first the Gladiators set a
gigantic target of 187 for the Kings, which looked difficult in the initial overs as
they lost two quick wickets.

This was the fifth match for both teams, who had performed in all previous four
matches with contrasting results.

Before this, Gladiators remained undefeated in all their four matches, securing
eight points to top the points table, whereas Karachi Kings has recorded their
second win, as they previously suffered from embarrassment of three consecutive
defeats.

INGRAM’S BUTTRESS KINGS TOWARDS THE VICTORY:
Ingram’s, magnificent performance completely overshadowed the rest of the
batsmen whose performances faded in comparison.

ENORMOUS VICTORY:
In reply, the Kings had a disastrous start as the
sides were reeling at 4-2 at one stage.However, Awais Zia and Colin Ingram support
the third wicket to steady the side. Thankfully for the Kings, Ingram had one of his best days in the middle and take the team towards the victory.
