The Pakistan under-19 team was scheduled to leave for Sri Lanka on Tuesday, however on the back of recent terrorist attacks in the country that left 250 people killed; Sri Lanka has called off the tournament.
“The tour has been postponed indefinitely, it was a decision taken by SLC, as we didn’t want to take any chances,” an official of Sri Lankan Cricket said while talking to ESPNcricinfo.
The tournament was set to commence from May 3 and Pakistan Cricket Board had been closely looking at the security conditions in Sri Lanka ahead of the series, it is hoped that the U-19 team will be sent to Sri Lanka sometime in future.
Additionally, PCB has also announced the upcoming Pakistan U-19 vs South Africa U-19 as a prep match ahead of ICC U-19 World Cup to be held next year. The Pakistan U-19 will soon be touring South Africa for seven 50 over matches.
