Pakistan and Sri Lanka have encountered each other seven times in the history of World Cup and Pakistan won every single time. However, this time on Friday, the two took away a point each without competing, as the rain halted the match in Bristol.

The match which was scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. was cancelled in the afternoon as the umpires found watery patches on the ground, post drying as well. It was then decided to divide two points amongst the teams as the 11th match of the tournament was abandoned.

Earlier in this World Cup 2019, Pakistan has lost one match against West Indies and won against England, similarly Sri Lanka faced defeat at the hands of New Zealand and stood victorious against Afghanistan.

After today’s match, both teams stand at three points each on the points table.
