Teenager Riyan Parag led a dramatic late fightback along with Jofra Archer as Rajasthan Royals recovered from a batting slump to snatch a thrilling three-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in a dramatic IPL match at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.
The 17-year-old Parag from Assam played without any fear in only his 14th T20 match to score a 31-ball 47 in a determined rearguard innings as the Royals chased down the target of 176 with four balls to spare.

The Royals needed 54 runs from the final five overs with just four lower order batsmen to come and the match was definitely for KKR’s taking at that stage but the script changed altogether as the home side slumped to their sixth loss on the trot.
Dinesh Karthik posted his highest IPL score to give Kolkata Kinight Riders a challenging total to defend. He has scored 85% of his runs in boundaries today with 7 fours and 9 sixes. It was also his highest T20 total. For the first time since 2013, Dinesh Karthik managed to cross 70 run mark.

He is KKR’s highest run scorer in an innings as a middle order batsman. Karthik smashed 9 sixes while scoring 97 runs off 50 balls. With 9 sixes today, he became KKR’s joint third player with most number of sixes in an innings after McCullum and Russell.
Piyush Chawla became the only KKR bowler to take 3 wickets in the ongoing edition of the league. Chawla’s 3/20 is the best bowling figure bowled by the KKR bowler in IPL 2019. Chawla now has taken 9 wickets in 2019 IPL as he became the KKR player with most number of wickets in 2019. He overtook Russell while becoming the highest wicket taker for KKR this year.
