In an unexpected turn of events, fast pace bowler Junaid Khan has been dropped out of World Cup 2019 squad announced Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq.
The news came as a shock and pleasant surprised to many, who did not seem to predict Junaid’s replacement Wahab Riaz in the team, after being out of touch with ODI format for last two years. However, the Chief Selector said that Junaid’s dismissal came on the back of somewhat poor performance in the last two matches he played against England.
Following the announcement, Junaid himself took to Twitter to register a subtle (or not so) protest. With a picture of his mouth taped, he wrote “I don’t want to say anything, truth is bitter (sach karwa hota hai).”

The cricketer however later removed his Tweet which had by then stirred up a load of controversy.
Junaid has been a constant part of national team during 2012-2014, however on the back of a few injuries – which hampered his form – the left armer has been in and out of action since 2015. The last time in 2015, he had also missed the World Cup due to an injury.
In addition to Wahab, the much anticipated – and called for – Muhammad Amir was also able to secure a spot in the Pakistan squad for the upcoming World Cup that starts in 10 days.
