Former German footballer Mesut Ozil got married on Friday, to his fiance and ex-Miss Turkey Amine Gulse.
The ceremony attended by various VIPs was officiated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan whom Ozil had asked to be best man in March this year.
Ozil and Amine celebrated their wedding by providing donation to the Turkish Red Crescent and sponsoring meal for 15,000 Syrian refugees.
The ceremony which took place at Bosporus in Istanbul, was attended by hundreds of guests who were requested to not give gifts, instead Ozil and his new bride wished for the gifts money to be added to their donation.
Ozil is currently midfielder for Arsenal and does not play for the German national team anymore. His resignation came after World Cup 2018 when the footballer faced racism for his Turkish-German nationality, as Germany dropped out in the first round.
