In the one off T20 match England defeated the green side by 7 wickets. Finishing off the required 173-6 target at 175-3 with four balls remaining, the English batting side shone bright at Cardiff.
Captain Eoin Morgan with his undefeated innings of 57 runs alongside Joe Root (47) and James Vince (36) powered England to victory. The winning shot came from Morgan, who wrapped up the match with a straight six to Faheem Ashraf’s ball.
England fast bowler Joshua Archer also proved his mettle as he took away two wickets for a loss of 29 runs. The bowler is striving for a World Cup call-up.
On Pakistan’s side, poor fielding played a pivotal role in the team’s defeat in their favorite format. On the batting side, Pakistan started off a bit shaken after losing a few early wickets. However, Babar Azam (65) and Haris Sohail (50) pushed the team to 103, coupled with Imad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf’s remarkable finish the team attained a total of 173.
