The aspiring batsman of Pakistan cricket team who had previously scored 8 centuries in the ODI format has now brought one home in T20 format. While playing against Leicestershire on Wednesday, the player scored a hundred runs of 63 balls.
His innings also led the Pakistan 11 drive through the victory by a total of 58 runs against the county. During the innings, Babar hit two sixes and 13 fours scoring a massive 101.
Following the county match, Babar has also been signed by Somerset county team for the T20 Blast Tournament. In an interview to BBC, Somerset director of cricket, Andy Hurry had this to say, “To be able to sign a player of the caliber of Babar Azam is tremendously exciting, he is a proven performer at the very highest level.”
At the moment Babar is in England playing for green shirts ahead of the series against England (starting May 8) and World Cup 2019 (starting May 30). He’ll then participate in the T20 Blast, which will begin on July 18.
